Portobello's 20th Anniversary and Christmas Bash
From humble beginnings Portobello R.C. has evolved into one of Edinburgh's respected running clubs. Started in 1987 by Angela Murray and her family and friends as a way of getting fit, 'Porty' now boasts around 90 members running all around Scotland and the World. The club involves itself in Edinburgh's running community, supporting local races, marshalling at events from Cross Country to Marathon. The club still has the original philosophy of the founder members, to be welcoming and encouraging to all levels of runners. Our runners win prizes competing at high levels and also has runners who compete against themselves and achieve personal goals. We are also very good at enjoying ourselves as we did at last Saturday's celebrations. Founder members swelled the ranks for a great ceilidh /disco that often seemed like a training session in itself, especially the giant Strip the Willow!!
