Silverknowes Self Transcendence 5k 4/06/08

Many thanks to Coach Gordon who didn't run but did a
splendid job taking photos. So good in fact I am not going to bother
putting (m)any words with them. If you ran it you know how painful it
was, but at least there was only a light wind and the evening was very
pretty (once you (I) stopped gasping and crying.) Getting a pen, a
pair of running socks, a bottle of water and a chocolate
for the £4 entry fee surely represents a profit. Worth turning
up for without even doing the run. In fact that might have been a better
idea. The place was awash with Porty vests - and great to see a few
new faces in them. Special mention to Mel for an individual prize and
with Shelagh and Kath, the Ladies Team Prize.

Gerry leads the team from early on.

Chased down by a giant

Toby started fast.

Well done Gerry - 17.22 and first PRCer

oh that hurts

Scott also enjoying himself.

Toby going well despite the "start-fast-and-bop-till-you-drop"
technique

Well done Mel

First Ladies.

"Running offers us the message of
transcendence. In our running, every day we are aiming at a new goal....every
day we are running towards a goal, but when we reach that goal, we want
to go still farther. Either we want to improve our timing or increase
our distance. There is no end. Running means continual
transcendence, and that is also the message of our inner life".
