A Blustery Day 22/03/09
Not the windiest we've ever experienced on the Pentlands
but breezy enough to take the stuffing out of us by the time we got
from Flotterstone to West Kip. Watch out for Richard and Mary holding
their heads on and leaning into the wind. I turned the volume down on
the audio for the remainder of the film as you get the picture after
the first bit. All that roaring threatens to blow your thinking cap
off.
About 13.4 miles run and walked in 2hrs50 or so. Glad
to get out of the worst of the wind in the second half. Took a wooden
planked detour round Threipmuir only to find it ended after a few hundred
yards in a rather dismal birders hut. Now if they were to plank the
full circuit round the reservoir it would make a very nice diversion.
Thanks to Richard for driving us there and back and
apologies for making him do the water jump so many times. Due
to technical difficulties (trying to be clever with greenscreen titles)
the first 2 minutes are badly pixilated. Music is Here We Go Again
by Australian siblings Angus and Julia Stone.
