Glenrothes 10k 18/6/06

After last weeks marathon disappointment I wasn't going to run until
the Porty 4 but looking at the fixtures there was a few 10ks, so I picked
Glenrothes. The last time I was here they had a half marathon as well
as a 10k so that's going back a few years. The start is on a track so
after 100mtrs its out onto the roads or so I thought; nope two bloody
laps we had to do. At the start of the second lap I nearly came a cropper
when a Fife AC runner cut in front of me and nearly went headfirst into
the fence, so when I regained my balance he wasn't exactly met with
a "watch where your going". Anyway out on to the roads and
I thought how can I still see the lead car? It was still only 2k right
enough. Gets to halfway in 19.50 so still on target for a sub 40. The
second half does have its undulations but not too testing - a bit along
a cycle path then back onto the main road then into the sports centre
onto the track to the finish and to my relief just 100mtrs to the finish
and not more laps round the track thank god.
