Winter Training, Cumbria.

A brilliant way to spend the Hogmanay week! Get away
to the fells of Cumbria to get some hill training in and generally have
a good laugh with a gang of good pals!

As the photo's show we had a fabulous week with the
weather; cold and crisp showing off the countryside at it's seasonal
best. Santa had brought me a new pair of trail shoes and I was itching
to get out and muddy them up. The cottage we stayed in was in Dufton,
in the Eden Valley right on the Pennine way, 3 miles from Appleby. A
hidden gem of Cumbria away from the busy more famous Lake District.
We could step out of the house straight on to the fells and some great
running and walking routes.

If the Club were ever to do a training weekend this
place would be perfect. Anyway it certainly inspired me into my New
Year running, Happy 2009 everyone and good running.
Report and photos Lynn Hanley

Please note: Lynn's report
was a bit late going up as I did not receive the email she sent a while
back. Probably because the large photos were all sent in one email.
If you are not reducing the size of photos sent to me (800 pixels wide
is a good size) then please send them in attachments smaller than 10mb
- you can find this out by right clicking and checking properties. I
think there's some setting on a server blocking emails larger than 10mb.
If in doubt send them only 2 or 3 per email. Thanks and keep them coming.
