Maddy Moss Hill Race

So I did my first catorgary A hill race. The evening began when Tony picked me up and suddenley there was huge traffic, both of us thought damn it no race for us! But we made it just about 20 minutes before the race start. So we made it, got our gear on and headed to the start line.

It started raining heavily as soon as the race started, the climbs started and so did the pain. My shoes weren't great so I was sliding all over the place and thats up hill!!

Michael and the ghost of Tony S!

On the top it was just so stormy with the heavy rain, but at least it was going to be down hill. Here I was looking forward to running down until I was skidding even more and then fell into stinging nettles, that really hurt. The guy who was just behind me swore and laughed at my misfortune, I will not name him but I wasn't too pleased. So I clawed my way back up through those stinging nettles, I was thinking what else can go wrong? As soon as I crossed the line, I just swore and swore because my body stung so much. I knew I finished way down, so it turned out it was second to last, but I was happy just to finish it.

Tony was great to me after and just said Michael you need better shoes, so I got some and will be ready for Dollar hill race.
Overall I really enjoyed it and its amazing how hill racing is different to the road. I would recommend this anyone.
