Portobello Running Club

Membership

The club is an autonomous non-profit organisation. Each year a certain amount of the club's funds is carried forward and a donation is made to charity. An annual general meeting is held on the third Wednesday in January to review the annual accounts, determine club policy and vote for office-bearers. The club is organised by a committee of seven or eight members led by Douglas Young (right).

The present committee comprises:
Chairman Douglas Young
Secretary Amanda Henderson
Treasurer Willie Jarvie

Gillian McKelvie
Andrew Jeske
Peter Buchanan
Richard Dennis
Shelagh McLeish
Gordon McKenzie

Any club member who thinks they might contribute to the club's organisation and in particular the road race committee should make themselves known to any committee member.

The annual membership fee is £15, (£7.50 concession) payable before the end of February. A reduced fee applies to those joining after July 30th.
Each week members pay £1at the start of training.

How to join: Any prospective member interested in joining should email the club to ask for details of when and where we meet and the level of running expected. Lynn is happy for new members to join her group if they can manage 5 miles in 45 minutes. We tend to run for an hour at training sessions and prospective members should be able to match this.
