Nice Marathon 9/11/08
We never thought we would ever run a marathon but with the event of a big birthday looming we decided we should do one before reaching 50. Nice to Cannes appealed to us both; being in November, it gave us time to do a bit of training and the weather would be warm.
It was a challange for both of us as I am happier running on hills and Ian is more of a short distance runner. In the end we enjoyed the whole experience. The course was along the coastline from Nice to Cannes taking in Antibes and Juan le Pans where David Jason was spotted cheering us on. Running into Cannes was fantastic with crowds lining the streets.
The organisation pre and post was perfect. After the race we were all taken back to Nice on a free train which arrived on time. We might even do another one.
