Male and Female Runners will compete for the Steedman Trophies

This year there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in all 3 categories and our sponsor Run and Become has generously donated prizes to be given not only to the front runners, but also as spot prizes to encourage runners of all abilities to come along to this fun evening run for children and adults alike.

Run and Become

NOTE: This year we are separating the adults' and children's registration areas.

Adults' 4 mile race- in the Towerbank School playground on the Prom by the start/finish area.

Children's fun run - in the enclosed playground by the school, as usual.

Registration is on the day only and cash please. Children £2, Adults £7 or £5 for SA members.

The clock will be stopped at 50 minutes to allow the the prizegiving to take place in a reasonable time after the winners arrive. The race will be run under Scottish Athletics rules and timing is provided by Alex Jackson. There are plaques for the first three male and female seniors, first three male and female veterans and first three male and female supervets. Money raised from the entry fee will be donated to the nominated charity Friends of Chernobyl's Children (Portobello).

There are changing facilities at the Towerbank Primary School gymnasium which will be signposted. Avoid bringing valuables to the race if possible.

There is a large, free car park at the Indoor Bowls Centre off Westbank Street behind "The Pitz" 5-a-side football courts. This is a short walk along the promenade from registration. Parking is limited in the surrounding streets.

In order to speed up the entry procedure on the day, you can assist us by clicking on the link below to the entryform. Simply print the page out on your printer at home and fill it in, then bring it with you to the registration desk with the appropriate fee. (Cash only, no cheques please) Teachers can download and copy an entry form from this site to give to schoolchildren to bring along on the evening. There will be no pre-registration this year.

registration by 6.30 pm at the very latest for the kids race starting at 6:45.

registration by 6:45 pm at the very latest for the adult race starting at 7:15

Full results will be available on this website within a day or two of the race.

Club Members: Alan Aitchison will brief the club on the Wednesday before the race for marshalling and other assignments on the night. Be there no later than 5:30pm on the night as things start to get hectic shortly thereafter.
