Tour of Fife, Day2, Chariots of Fire Beach Race 4 miler
(3.6probably) 30/07/09

When the going gets tougher,
the tougher run a little slower.
Another long day followed by a long drive to St. Andrews
then back into race mode and run like a donkey on the beach.

This is becoming a daily pilgrimage.

Before

After
I found the first half very hard then when we turned
I realised we had been running into the wind and things got marginally
easier. I looked at my watch at the turn-around and it either said 10.53
or 18.53 and the fact that I didn't really didn't know which, underlines
the fatigue. And its only day 2.

Julia shot the start then jumped in her car and sped to the turning
point. Top marks J.

However it was nice and short (the Garmin says 3.6 miles)
and that made for less than 22 minutes torture. The line couldn't come
quick enough - you get to see it for about 1.5 miles and its a big relief
to cross it.

Got both these dudes but it was hard work.

Mary chased from half way...

...all the way to a sprint finish

And held the place.

Another splendid evening of summer sunshine. Not quite
nice enough to get me in the water but there were some takers.

good work with shells

Instead of a swim we went for a cool doon.

Tomorrow an up hill time trial. That will probably be
my low point. Weekend weather forecast very poor.
